I believe teachers have a crucial role in helping to create and foster independent thinkers who are capable of using their voices, exploring their passions, and navigating through life’s ups and downs.”

Zoe’s Story

Teaching Discipline

Biochemistry

Why Biochemistry

I absolutely love both biology and chemistry and the overlap between them, especially how they work in the human body. I enjoy tying together teaching and medicine in a way that shows students how applicable science can be.

Professional Experience

During college, Zoe spent two years working in a UCLA health biochemistry lab as a research assistant, helping students purify protein samples for protein structure testing.

Zoe will begin her first year of teaching at the STEM Academy of Hollywood during the 2022–2023 school year.

Hobbies

When she’s not in the classroom, Zoe enjoys fitness, specifically weight lifting and training. She has also been going on lots of walks with her new puppy.
