Student self-checks promote agency, while teacher notes capture evidence in real time, reinforcing students’ identities as people who do science.

This Task Analysis Guide (TAG) is a tool teachers can use to evaluate the cognitive demand of classroom tasks. It may also serve as a reference to support teachers in selecting and modifying tasks to meet the needs of the students in their math, science, or engineering classrooms.
