Teachers are meant to support and foster the growth of students in the skills within their discipline, and support their entire development as young adults preparing for independence and growing into their own unique personalities.”

Libby’s Story

Teaching Discipline

Math

Why Math

I love how high school math sets the foundation for different STEM disciplines and has so many avenues for real-world connection. The critical thinking skills that students build in a math classroom will stay with them their entire life.

Professional Experience

Libby volunteered in a first-grade classroom for three years and taught AP Computer Science for a year. She also worked as a teaching assistant for computer science classes while pursuing her undergraduate degree.

Libby will begin her second year of teaching at Tahoma High School during the 2022–2023 school year.

Hobbies

When she’s not reading fantasy novels, Libby volunteers at a local rescue for retired racing greyhounds.
