Why Math 

I chose to teach mathematics because I believe it provides a critical gateway for multiple avenues of life. Math allows students to gain critical thinking skills through problem solving, which allows them to feel connected to their learning.”

Professional Experience

During her undergraduate studies, Clare worked as a learning assistant in a Calculus II classroom and was a Pathways to Science Teaching participant. She also provided after-school academic support at the local Kalamazoo middle schools. Additionally, Clare engaged in a study abroad trip in Ireland called Education in Ireland. 

Clare will begin her first year of teaching at Wyoming High School during the 2022–2023 school year. 

Hobbies

Clare is passionate about the great outdoors and enjoys hiking, golfing, and hanging out on the beaches around Lake Michigan.
