“One of the most important lessons I learned during college was that struggle is essential in being good at mathematics. As a math teacher, I hope to instill this belief in my students so that they can have positive mindsets not only in math but also in their other interests and passions.”
Professional Experience
Prior to entering the teaching profession, Joonsung had numerous experiences as a mathematics tutor. During his undergraduate experience at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, he served as a math tutor for students from a local high school and university students from the UW–Madison College of Engineering.
Joonsung also participated in a summer study abroad program in Xi’an, China to learn about the educational policies and practices in China and how they compare to those in the United States.
Joonsung will begin teaching at South San Francisco High School during the 2018–2019 school year.
Hobbies
Joonsung enjoys playing sports, watching the NBA, listening to music, reading, and eating all kinds of food.
