I think the role of a teacher is to create opportunities for students to discover and showcase their strengths, and improve their weaknesses, in a safe environment. Teachers should also take on the role of creating an environment that builds within students a love of learning.”
“Math is the foundation of engineering and science. When students see the importance of math and find joy in doing math, a whole new world of opportunities opens for them. Another reason for choosing to teach math is that many students have math anxiety and this pushes them away from doing anything related to math. I want to show students that they can do math and that they can find joy in doing math.”

In 2017, Kaitlyn started a company called Love to Learn that teaches elementary school students physics, engineering, and math. She has taught through this company for the past three years.
Kaitlyn will begin teaching at Woodside High School during the 2020–2021 school year.
